Hi Mikey, thanks for clearing that up but I felt I had to point out that QR software is far from standard on most Smartphones. Even more so, we've (ShotCode) managed to create the largest range of compatible mobile phones outside of Japan. Currently we support more then 250 models and an update of about 30 models is coming very soon. And off-topic I just wanted to also say we've recently launched together with iMatrix on the iPhone.

ShotCode is proprietary, as is the software.

But, from Wikipedia: "QR Code is open in the sense that the specification of QR Code is disclosed and that the patent right owned by Denso Wave is not exercised."

You can generate your own using sites like these.

And the s/w is standard with most smartphones.

But, yes ShotCode is way prettier.

Ok, so what is the difference between the code that wickd is using versus a shotcode of your myspace URL? Or is it the same, and they are just profiting off of the clothing.

I'd prefer to have the shotcode style deal on my clothing than the QR Code. It's just a bit more aesthetically pleasing to me.

@radian - indeed! i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make a QRCode patch that one could put on a jacket or something, if one was so inclined.

this QRCode scarf is pretty rockin', in my opinion

Why not just print off & wear a QR code tag with the url to your myspace etc?
