  1. It’s a bit more expensive than mass-producing the d00ds on home-printer stickerpaper, but I’ve been looking for an excuse to order some more Moo sticker books:

    http://www.moo.com/products/stickers.php

Reasonably priced, and they last forever (one I put up a year ago of http://tinyurl.com/69twsx (sfw) is still going strong). Easy enough to expand this to the necessary 240×240. Moo stickers have been my bite-sized meme delivery system of choice for a while now. Just thought I’d share.

  2. Innnteresting idea with the stickers. I like that.

  3. Do people in the US actually know what QR codes are?

  4. I’m in the US. I know what they are, but mainly because of this website. The normals don’t. I don’t have any way to decode that QR code and I’d like to know what it means.

  5. Do people in the US actually know what QR codes are?

Yes, I do. And I’m in the US. The average person in the US isn’t going to recognize what it’s used for because it’s not mainstream here, yet. Unfortunately, we seem to be the last to get anything new, tech wise.

But I’m not an average person.

I’ve already decoded what it means – it’s really easy, if you stop and think about it.

  6. I was able to decode it using: http://www.drhu.org/QRCode/QRDecoder.php

    decoded string is: http://grinding.be

  7. “Do people in the US actually know what QR codes are?”

A few, though the knowledge seems to be scatter-shot at best. While the QR code is dominant in Japan, there are several versions of the same idea at use in Europe.

I anticipate a format war (we love that here, you know. See also “VHS vs Beta”, “Blu-Ray vs HD”, etc) before one gets settled on. By the time we pick one, the rest of the world will probably have moved on to something else.

  8. Only one thing for it then, Europe. We all start using QR code and spread it so the format war is over before it starts.

Unless another format has some advantage?

  9. I see Jason has already posted the same Web-based decoder I use, a QR Code web decoder at
    http://www.drhu.org/QRCode/QRDecoder.php

I thought I would add this link to a QR Code web generator

    http://www.viooli.com/qrcodegenerator/demo.php

which has several options for color choices and whatnot, so as radian suggests we can all get to it if we like.

Example output: I created a QR Code for my music project and put it on my site here so I can get to it for ordering Moo stickers of the graphic.
