“The Perfect Woman” – Andriod tech is here?

Posted by m1k3y on June 1st, 2008 in robots, sex

Meet The Perfect Woman (male model coming soon):

If this is to be believed, you will soon be able to order a female sex-slave robot, featuring highly advanced touch sensors, voice recognition and everything else a master would require.

Personally, this smells of either some sort of art-hoax, or part of a a viral campaign.

The store opens in a few days, so we will find out soon enough.

thanks for the tip-off ap_minos!

  1. I’m sure they built a bipedal robot capable of carrying on a conversation and recognizing the potential millions of things one might find in a fridge and also cook a meal out of what was in there. Absolutely. Doesn’t seem like a hoax at all. No siree. Real deal right there.

Nevermind the fact that last week we thought Asimo was the most advanced human-like robot in the world. Now, from nowhere, comes two guys who claim to have built something that makes Asimo look like a toaster, and instead of doing a demo for the press or others in the field, they’ve decided to compete with the company that makes RealDoll. Yeah… that seems plausible.

Just getting a computer to recognize a stove for a stove (considering the million available brands and models in the world) would be a feat, ffs.

  2. @furre Agreed; so fake. It’s the skin that gets me. If they’ve got such amazing tech then why is her skin all shiny? I’ve seen other robots with fake skin that looks much more realistic, which makes me think they’ve just sprayed something on a real woman’s skin to make it look more fake.

Plus I’m not getting much of an Uncanny Valley vibe off her either. I’ve no doubt this is just a hoax.

  3. This reminds me of the adds that came out before “I, Robot”. Is anyone remaking “Cherry 2000″?

  4. the basement jaxx version was better.

  5. “Batteries not Included”

    “Non contractual video”

“Check the conditions on the website”

    “Currently stock availible”

Jeez, it’s like watching a car advertisement (those were running on the bottom of the screen at the end of the video).

  6. I hate how “art project” is now indistinguishable from “hoax.”

  7. something-something Media is the dominant discourse, something?

The shop’s supposed to open any second now.. let’s see what it brings…
