have I told you about how nerds destroy the world? no joke.
Here at Pictures For Sad Children, they talk of many things…afterlife and hallicinations. Probably carpenters and kings too. But this especially made me smile. Not in the nice way.
And just so we’re clear, it’s a ghost doing all the talking. Not a pickle.

Hmm. Yes. Nerds do waste their adulthoods, with such things like drawing cartoons, using their scanners to put said drawings on their computer, and putting said cartoon on the internet to complain about nerds wasting their adulthoods. Hopefully, this is part of the joke, but otherwise…yeesh.
Jared, I think that anyone willing & capable of executing the above comic would without a doubt get the irony. Whether the author is self-hating and using the irony to burn himself, overstating his point to get a reaction, or simply trolling, he gets it. Now the onus is on nerds (me too) to convince themselves that they are counterexamples because of small technicalities and deftly avoid contemplating any issues raised.
I think the author of this comic is doing a great job.
haha!
Anvilicious but a funny Take That.
“In the future being rich and white will be more awesome!”
Yeah, that’s pretty much my big problem with a lot of technological singularity rhetoric.
Most of my customers are working class and not white. Silly pickle.
of course, just because you’re poor and lack power doesn’t mean the grey goo started by the rich and well off Nerdcore will just leave you be.
and by ‘grey goo’ i actually mean technology.
what were you thinking?
Well said.
And I’m happy that the powerless still care enough to rant. A few decades back, we used to have terrorist splinter cells who preferred to give their rants that little extra bang. These days a comic is the best explosive we can come up with.

This comic is righteous.

On a global scale, working class whites are still in the top 10% of the richest people on the planet, with much more material wealth than some war lords. The ability to buy a computer or ps3 and hook it up to the internet for fun is something most global citizens can't even fathom, much less the 13 year old miners in the Congo who mine the coltan used in those electronics.
