Vuzix teases us with more details about it’s coming HUD
As promised these have been spotted at CES.
Pocket lint has touched them and has more details:
Vuzix’ proprietary Quantum optics technology gives Wrap 920AV wearers a “see-thru” video experience in the form of a functional pair of sunglasses with prescription lenses optional.
Claiming to be capable of 3D, Vuzix mysteriously states that an “optional Bluetooth 6-Degree of Freedom tracking sensor and/or Stereo Camera Pair will enable users to upgrade their Wrap 920AV to experience virtual, augmented and mixed reality environments“.
Awesome. Now stop teasing and gimme!

Hmm, I would love to hear more about it’s upgrades. True augmented reality, that would be a game changer.
Just being able to set up a huge virtual screen all around me, using the tracking sensor to look at any point of it by turning my head, would be awesome.
Too bad it has to have a corded connection to the video source.
Agreed. Something like the ScottEVest would help with that, until everything runs over bluetooth (or it’s successor)
Am I the only one who sees a certain charm and practicality to wired communications?
My Keyboards/mouses: Wired
My headphones: Wired
My Desktop LAN connection: Wired
My Laptop LAN connection: Wireless, I admit, as putting a wire pretty much defeats the purpose<
My cellphone: okay, duh. But still, I don’t use a bluetooth earpiece (yet)
No batteries to change (and lighter battery usage for portable devices, too), no possible loss of signal, less potential eavesdropping. A wire coming from my glasses to my hip is not only negligible regarding encumbrance, but also quite stylish. Isn’t “wired” a term used to describe the high-tech?
Wired sunglasses wouldn’t just be a negligible encumbrance. Get it snagged on anything, and you’ll regret not upgrading to bluetooth.
I have barely any wireless devices in my house, In a peculiar way, I guess I’m a little phobic about unneeded RF frequencies cooking me by way of my fillings. That said, I have a mobile phone, and a wireless router for my wireless laptop, but, I prefer to go over cable, I guess I like the tangibility. This however, could benefit from bluetooth, but, again, I’m not keen. This looks like a genuinely interesting bit of kit, but I wonder how easy to see the display actually is, with it being so close proximity to your eyes, and trying to look “through” it most of the time, I’d imagine it could be quite hard. But, this is the kind of stuff I’ve been dreaming about for years. Imagine having eye movement recognition on this.
