seeds bombs

Doomsday devices they are not – these seed-sowing plant bombs are one design team’s weapon of choice in the fight against global desertification. Consisting of a biodegradable shell loaded with a potent payload of plant capsules and nutrient-rich artificial soil, Seedbombs are designed to be dropped out of planes to help slow the spread of desert regions that are growing due to deforestation and other man-made causes.

  1. An interesting idea, and a great visual. I can mentally picture flotillas of retconned B52′s, painted garishly in the style of Ashbury and Haight hippy buses carpet bombing the edges of the desert into submission. Whether or not it would work, and how many innocent wanderers you may kill with a high velocity self-sufficient plant pot, I’m not certain.

  2. Anarchists do this, if by “biodegradable shell” and “nutrient-rich artificial soil” we mean newspaper and fertilizer/compost mix. Great for fenced off abandoned lots and the like.
