old news… and this guy isn’t very charismatic. and i wonder how much of this is actually true, and not just him drumming up support for his startup. so much of ‘science’ these days is based upon hope, not unbiased fact.

Scientists have discovered a way to use a toxic chemical (which is also found in our very own brains), extreme cold and lack of oxygen to put mammals (including humans as they are starting human trials) into a state of suspended animation. The state where you appear dead, but are in fact alive. They’re looking into being able to use this discovery for people who have been injured very badly in order to buy their bodies enough time to make it to the hospital where they can be saved.
